The charger is only one part of the installation
An EV charging project includes equipment, a suitable connection and an assessment of the property supply. ESA advises using approved charging equipment, a dedicated circuit and outdoor-rated equipment where needed. The contractor should evaluate the proposed load and explain whether the supply, a load-management arrangement or another design is suitable. Do not choose a circuit from the charger advertising alone.
Prepare the scope for your King City property
Show the preferred parking position on a property sketch and identify the charger model if selected. Include any planned garage work or additional major loads so the installation is assessed in context.
Ask how equipment suitability, capacity and the route will be established. Compare complete installed scopes, including any property work, rather than comparing the charger price alone.
What should the assessment establish?
A King City charging proposal should explain the route and connection in a way that can be reviewed alongside other property work. If the intended garage or parking area is being altered, have the contractor confirm which location assumptions are fixed and which need another review later. Ask what capacity assessment supports the installation and whether any separate building supply is included. A charger-only estimate does not answer those route and supply questions. Keep the final equipment position and access responsibilities in the project record so later landscaping or storage changes do not obscure the agreed installation.
Questions before you agree to work
Can an existing garage outlet be used automatically?
An outlet or earlier provision needs to be assessed against the actual equipment and current installation. Its presence does not confirm approval, circuit capacity or suitability for the charging arrangement.
What paperwork should I request?
Ask the contractor about the ESA notification before installation and request the Certificate of Acceptance after the applicable review. Keep the equipment documentation and agreed operating information as well.
